Bio
Live in Carpenders Park,Watford, Hertfordshire. Started playing guitar aged 10... always enjoyed acoustic playing, and during my teen years started writing awful angst-ridden drivel that only my girlfriend seemed to like.....but then she liked me enough to marry me !
So, now I'm a middle-aged grown up.......and still bashing seven bells out of the old accoustic guitar and writing slightly more mature drivel in the big old shed at the bottom of the garden.
Funny lot, the folks next door.... they heard me doing a set and thought it was quite good......hmmmmm.
Used to play in West Wales with Mike the Veg..... we were known as the ' Crymmych Crooners' , the West's least known Folk duo. Once on he bill with Hank Marvin at a private bash as part of a warm up act just to let people know that some proper musicians would be shortly appearing.
Still in awe of the professionals, and still trying to pluck up the courage to upload my stuff......
Influences
Ralph McTell. Nic Jones , Bert Jansch and the one and only Jamie Marshall ( get the albums 'In Our Lifetime' and 'Hereafter' or depart this mortal coil unfulfilled !) All those geniuses who wrote all of the great violin concerto's, but especially Winston Francis for encouragement to stop being a wimp and get on with writing what's in the heart. Also love reggae, medieval choral music ( Thomas Tallis et al ), trance and cajun...... every genre of music has a wow factor in it somewhere.... you just gotta open the ears on the inside of your head !
